“Doing rehabilitation with ReHub has been a tremendous experience, I have nothing but words of thanks.”

Telerehabilitation is much more than following a remote physiotherapeutic treatment. Technology has evolved in such a way that platforms allow very precise and objective measurement of movement thanks to sensor monitoring. It allows professionals to follow the evolution of the therapy in real time, which can be adapted and updated in a personalized way by devising specific programs.

Just as telerehabilitation offers many advantages to rehabilitators, physiotherapists and the health system itself, it also provides many benefits to patients. And we want to focus on them.

Remote rehabilitation platforms improve patient quality of life through their comfort and accessibility. They increase their motivation for treatment as they become the protagonists and can perform the exercises anywhere and at any time. This makes it easier to carry out the whole process to the completion and the result is more effective therapies

We want to share a testimony from someone that has experienced this motivation by doing a rehabilitation with ReHub. We interviewed Carlos, who after his complete knee replacement operation, began using the DyCare digital rehabilitation platform.

  1. When and why did you began using ReHub?

Well, it was the first time I went to post operatory evaluation. The physiotherapist, Montse Nuevo from the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona,  told me about a rehabilitation program she uses, and asked me if I wanted to participate, and I told her that I agreed.

  1. Have you felt accompanied during the therapy by your professional?

Very much so! I think I have met great professionals and great people, and among them this team that works together with DyCare.

  1. To what extent has ReHub helped you to follow your treatment and not give up?

I have to thank DyCare and the entire team for the program they have developed. I was willing to try it and have noticed a great progress as it has empowered me as a person, and because I used to always have fears and it has given me absolute peace of mind. I’ve never had to make such a big effort as I did this time and I’ve had a lot of help to be able to do it.

“The constant contact with the physiotherapist makes me feel safe and confident that I’m doing the right kind of rehabilitation.”

  1. Do you feel safe and under medical control?

Yes, I maintain personal contact with the physiotherapist, Montse Nuevo, who is an exceptional professional and an excellent person. Through this contact I tell her how I am doing and how I am getting on. This communication is continuous and goes very well.

  1. Is it necessary to use a sensor in order to measure the movement, has this been easy?

Yes, at the beginning there were some problems with the sensor, but I contacted them in order to fix it and at this moment it is going exceptionally well. It is not complicated to use.

  1. Have you used the chat to communicate with your professional?

Yes, for example, when she has proposed some exercise to me, we have been in touch and I have been telling her if it hurt, if it didn’t hurt, how it did, for how long,… We’ve been in touch regularly and it’s been very useful.

“ReHub has many advantages: I can plan when and where to do my exercises”

  1. What advantages do you find in ReHub compared to traditional rehabilitation?

They are two very different types of therapy. It depends on the mentality. I believe a lot in people, but I’ve realized that the easiness we have to be able to perform the exercises through the internet is very practical and, it has worked out very well for me. I have had a physiotherapist for a few days but I have not found a difference in the approach to the person when doing it through the internet, both things are going very well. There are many advantages, for example I have planned to do the exercises every four hours and I put an alarm to warn me. I have taken a strict and absolute control, and everything has gone exceptionally well.

  1. What would you tell other patients to use ReHub?

I’d tell them that’s the best they can get. It’s a program that I’ve found to be very good. In a rehab treatment you have to be mentally prepared, you have to be willing and make a lot of effort, but with ReHub it’s easy to do, because it gives you a lot of peace of mind and you don’t think about other things; you’re absorbed in the computer, concentrated with the movements, if you do them right, if you do them wrong… for me it’s been and is important.

  1. Would you like to add any comments?

The infinite gratitude I have to Montse, as a person, as a professional, as well as to all the team who are exceptional. It has been an enormous experience for me and I only have words of gratitude for the help they have given me.

Testimonies such as Carlos’ reaffirm our commitment to continue working in the field of technology applied to health (e-Health). Telerehabilitation has become the professional’s best ally, an aid to the health system and an improvement in the patient’s quality of life when faced with rehabilitation processes. Checking the direct effect that ReHub provides in the three areas shows us the way to continue developing the platform.
