The Consorci Sanitari Integral offers telerehabilitation through the ReHub digital platform

The rehabilitation service of the Consorci Sanitari Integral (Hospital Dos de Maig, Hospital de Sant Joan Despí Moisès Broggi, Hospital General de l’Hospitalet) has incorporated our digital platform ReHub. The aim is to be able to offer rehabilitation therapy remotely, avoiding unnecessary trips to the centers and increasing the motivation and autonomy of patients during their treatment. The Consorci Sanitari Integral, which since July 2020 offers the possibility of following the different rehabilitation therapies online through its YouTube channel, is now once again committed to telerehabilitation.

ReHub, a digital platform that makes it possible to check the patient’s progress virtually

ReHub is a platform designed to manage any rehabilitation treatment that requires the practice of active exercises. It covers the entire rehabilitation process, from recording the diagnosis, monitoring the treatment, the patient’s process until full recovery. Silvia Raga, CEO of DyCare, says that more than 2,500 patients with different pathologies have already been treated with the ReHub platform.

How does it work? After an initial face-to-face assessment with the rehabilitation doctor, patients can follow the therapy remotely through the execution of personalized exercises using a special sensor that monitors movement and muscle strength. The physiotherapist progressively monitors the patient’s evolution thanks to the data collected by the sensor and elaborated through intelligent algorithms as the user performs the programmed exercises. The medical professional will always be able to help the patient and ensure that the exercises are performed correctly.

Jesús Tinocothe head of the rehabilitation service at Consorci Sanitari Integral, highlights one of the main reasons for launching telerehabilitation in response to Covid-19: “Inevitably, the pandemic has revolutionized the channels of communication between doctors and patients, bringing care closer in a more immediate and personalized way and prioritizing visits to the center only in case of need”. ReHub will allow them to offer remote therapy in a more orderly way than is currently offered through their YouTube channel, improving the quality of care and increasing the autonomy of the patient, who will not have to travel to the health center.

ReHub adapts to new working models. The pandemic has accelerated the implementation of telerehabilitation, which is consolidating as a new, effective and safe clinical care model where more and more centers and hospitals are committed to using this tool with their patients.
